Where to Submit Your Podcast

Alternatively, if you like getting your hands dirty, then here are a few places you should definitely get listed on.

5. Stitcher

Stitcher is one of the most popular platforms to submit your podcast. Currently, it offers 100,000 podcasts and was one of the Top 5 Podcast Apps by TIME Magazine this year.

Requirements to submit your podcast to Stitcher are:

  • Artwork: JPG or PNG format that’s at least 1400 x 1400.
  • Title: Unique and not a replica of another podcast.
  • Blog: Created at least one blog post with one of your embedded podcast episodes.

4. Acast

Acast is making a name for itself as being the go to marketplace for premium content. Discover new content through recommendations of episodes you’ve already listened to. If you choose to host your podcast on Acast, you get access to monetisation options via ads and promos.

Requirements to submit your podcast to Acast are:

  • RSS Feed: Podcast hosted RSS feed.
  • Show URL: Unique name for listeners to discover you on Acast.

3. Apple Podcasts

iTunes is by far the most well-known place to listen to music and podcasts. Apple now serves over 315 million mobile devices across devices like iPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and Apple TVs.

Requirements to submit your podcast to iTunes are:

  • Apple ID: If you don’t have one, sign up here.
  • Artwork: JPG or PNG format that’s at least 1400 x 1400 to 3000 x 3000.
  • RSS Feed: Podcast hosted RSS feed.

2. Spotify

Spotify is the biggest music streaming service worldwide with over 150 million active subscribers, so it’s the place to be to showcase your podcast. In terms of podcasting listeners, they’re very close behind iTunes for being the most popular choice for downloading popular shows.

Requirements to submit your podcast to Spotify are:

  • Audio Format: ISO/IEC 11172-3 MPEG-1 Part 3 (MP3) audio with a bitrate between 96kbps and 320kbps (aka MP3 with good audio quality).
  • File Size: Episodes should be less than 200MB - that’s 83 mins at 320kbps or 200 mins 128kbps.
  • Artwork: JPG or PNG with a square aspect ratio of 1:1 in the highest resolution available.
  • Feed Values: Episode titles should not exceed 20 characters. Special characters, like !@£$%^&*() must be HTML encoded, e.g. “&” to “&”.
  • Feed Fields: Your podcast must have a title, artwork, and at least 1 episode to be considered.

Spotify is a bit different when it comes to submitting your podcast. Instead of submitting your RSS feed like you do with the other directories, you need to go through your media host instead. Contact your podcast host for more details.

1. TuneIn

TuneIn is best known as being a radio platform, but it’s also gaining traction as being a definitive podcast directory. With over 75 million listeners, it’s worth getting your podcast listed here.
